Mr. Gary L. Bauer
Family Research Council
801 G Street, N.W.
Washington DC, 20001
Sir,
After being personally attacked by your organization in your recent "culture facts" newsletter and after watching your press conference of chosen clerics today, we are compelled to comment.
We are perplexed that an organization named the Family Research Council would spend such a large amount of time and money on destroying families rather than building families. We are saddened that you have chosen the word of God as your hammer. Each time you bash us you are bashing a family. We have mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, neighbors and parishioners, we are American and part of the American Family.
We watch and we listen as you force your religious views on unsuspecting Americans, your hatred, your power, destroying people, destroying families. Homosexuality is not the result of a religious or spiritual condition; therefore, it quite simply can't be cured by one.
You proudly put forward "ex gays" that paint a distorted picture of the gay and lesbian community as a whole in order to frighten your target audience. We are sure you realize, social issues are not exclusive to the gay community alone, yet that is exactly what you would have the unsuspecting American public believe.
Our hope in this letter is to put before you a family, our family. Ours is just one of the families you continue to try to erase, to cure. As long as we have a breath in our bodies, we will continue to protect our family and families like ours. Try as you may, there will be no holocaust. Our children will not have to hide in the attic because we refuse to hide in the closet.
Most sincerely,
Jon and Michael Galluccio
