Wow. I guess the beauty of having children is never knowing what tomorrow will bring.
Well, it's official this is a certified newsletter, although many of you received our February update, we are happy to report that we now have over 400 people on our mailing list. It is so wonderful to continue receiving the support from you as we continue on this journey.
This newsletter is supposed to contain news so on with the show!
Our Children:
Adam continues to grow in leaps and bounds. He is almost finished with his first year of nursery school. He is enrolled in a summer program with some of his friends from school. At 2 ½ we have been experiencing some of those wonderful things called tantrums, you know "no no no no", some hand movements, some floor lying. It is not often but none the less, they are here. His speech is improving and he is almost there at pronouncing father correctly (Michael is thrilled).Madison is finally getting some hair! It looks like after all these months of waiting we are happy to report that she will be sporting some majorly curly hair. She is also getting five new teeth now and honestly dealing very well with it. She has about 40 words in her vocabulary already. Therefore, at 16 months she is doing quite well. Either it is true what they say about girls developing quicker or she is just brilliant (you know where we fall on that one - development shmellopent the girl is gifted!)
Our Book:
Many of you know we have begun writing our story. Well actually we acquired a Literary Agent, Todd Shuster (speaking of brilliant) and a writer, David Groff (speaking of gifted) and are starting to work on our proposal for a book. At least we are over the interviews and contracts. We hope to put it to auction in June or July.
Our Movie:
Our Independent Producer, Josh Lehrer (Multi talented mover and shaker) has entered into a co-production agreement with Mandalay Productions. Casting and scripting will receive the help of CAA. Development and production could begin as early as September with a release possibly in early 1999.
Our Journey:
Or as we say, everything else going on. In February we had the honor of speaking at NGLTF Freedom to Marry Forum in Washington DC. We have done a fund raising letter for GLPCI. We have lectured at Penn State, GMAAC, Unitarian Church SAG Conference, and other things from telephone calls to email; we are dedicated to education and awareness. We also attended the 1997 GLAAD Media Awards in NY and look forward to working with GLAAD in the future.
Some future events included:
Some personal events of note:
On April 16, we will be celebrating our 16th anniversary (we met when we were 10, yeah right!). Coincidentally, Jon will be in court that morning taking the last name of Galluccio - Legally. Jon will keep Holden as his middle name, like Adam and Madison. Which brings us to back to doe o o o ooops we mean - Madison. She will be baptized on May 31 at the Episcopal Church of the Atonement (Fair Lawn) godparents are Marian Galluccio and Keith Crarey. Also regarding Madison is the question everyone keeps asking, " when she will be adopted?". The answer is not clear; the state controls that but if all goes well, it could be this summer. Two things we know for sure. One, we will be adopting her and two, we will adopt her JOINTLY! Last, but not least is one of our favorite days June 21 - Father's Day.
There is certainly much going on these days but we get through it one day at a time. Thank you all again for your continuing kind words and support. God bless each one of you.
